Micronutrient 101: Minerals - Zinc

by Jowynna Yeo - 6th Oct 2019

Did you know that nearly 90% of our total body zinc is found in our muscles and bones? Wow.

Zinc plays many important functions as it's involved in cell growth, nutrient metabolism, immunity, reproductive function and more. (There's too many to tell!)

Zinc is found in many food items and is particularly high in protein foods such as organ meats, meat, poultry, fish and shellfish.

Besides that, nuts, seeds, legumes and whole-grain cereals (especially bran and germ) have relatively high zinc content too.
